After about 9 months of house selling, renovating and buying; we are finally done and are now country-fried. 9 long, agonizing months...same amount of time of a pregnancy. Maybe I should have requested an epidural before closing and the "baby" was ours.
The "baby" sits atop a hill where a breeze is always blowing, surrounded by trees, trees and more trees and 20 acres of that is now home to the Scribblers. I have spent the past week (with much help from my family) getting settled in, furniture arranged and walls painted (my sis really rocks a paint brush) We have learned that coyotes will serenade us every night if we listen, wild turkeys can actually fly some and are highly aggressive to the family pet, shoes are meant only for going to town, sunsets are more vivid, millions of twinkly stars outshine the brightest city light post and that mowing more than 2 acres with no sunscreen will leave you "country-fried"
Thank you to each of you who followed my story and sent prayers and well wishes. I can't wait to show you pictures of everything (we must think of a clever name for this dream home) but that would mean that I would have to figure out which box my USB cable got placed in (probably in the same box as the Q-tips and Seasoning Salt)
I want to thank all of my guest posters this last week. Ya'll had some wonderful posts and it was an honor to get to feature each one of you! (Can I get an "Amen?") I have a few more of you who offered to guest post about the time my internet was severed for a while. I believe I have gotten back to each of you and we will work out another guest posting session from time to time. If you haven't heard back from me...write me back, it got kind of hectic and I lost track of everything for a little while.
SO....that's all from my dirt road. Hopefully I will have pictures by tomorrow!

Guest Blogger - OneGirl
Today's guest poster is One Girl. She is a wonderful awesome blogger with some beautiful posts like THIS. She has this to say about herself...
I'm a daughter, a grand-daughter, a sister, a niece, and a friend. I was lost and now I've been found. I've been rescued and am learning to fall in love with my Rescuer. I'm just one girl but I have convictions and things I'm passionate about. I've made many mistakes but have learned many things from those situations. I love to sing, but it's not very likely that you'll hear me singing unless someone else is singing along also. I'm pretty much the whitest dancer ever, but I still love dancing. I also like to act. I love taking pictures and then editing them. I like to read and watch reality shows. Writing is something I've loved for a long time. I write songs and poems, and now I have this blog :) One more thing I love: quotes. I even have a quote book haha! When it comes down to it, I may not be the prettiest, most athletic, most popular girl you'll meet, but I'm me. I've got a family and my Savior. I'm blessed.
Quotes
I like quotes.

Quotes
I like quotes.
They're on my Facebook Info page, on a quote thread I started in a community that I frequent, and I like them enough to include that little piece of information in my About Me. I even have a quote book.
Quotes can be sad, inspiring, powerful, moving, funny, or a combination of all of the above.
What do you say? Would you be proud of the words that come out of your mouth if you were being quoted? Would you be proud of your blog posts if you stopped and thought about the impact your words could have around the world...if someone were to quote your post?
And what do you think about? Because, more often than not, what you think becomes what you say.
"Be careful what you think, it will become what you say. Be careful what you say, it will become what you do. Be careful what you do, it will become a habit. Be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character. Your character is everything." (author unknown)
Quotes say a lot about a person. From this quote I can tell that Albert Einstein was probably a humble and persistent person:
"It's not that I'm smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer."
Martin Luther King clearly realized that repaying evil with evil doesn't help anyone. I know this because of this quote:
"You know the saying "an eye for an eye" just leaves everyone blind."
Henry Ford knew a little something about not giving up. Two famous quotes made by him are:
"When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the plane takes off against the wind, not with it." And, "If you think you can or think you can't, you're right."
My question to you is this: Would you be okay with people quoting you?
I'm not here to make you feel bad or guilty for the words that come out of your mouth (or the words that spill from your fingers onto your computer screens). If anyone is guilty, it's me. I want to challenge you, though. Speak (and write) in such a way that you would be thrilled to pieces to discover someone had quoted you.
A few closing quotes to (hopefully!) brighten your day. :)
"That which is beautiful is not always good, but that which is good is always beautiful." -Ninon de L'Enclos
"The past is behind, learn from it. The future is ahead, prepare for it. The present is here, live it." -Thomas S. Monson
"When things are bad, we take comfort in the thought that they could always be worse. And when they are, we find hope in the thought that things are so bad, they have to get better." -Malcolm Forbes
"I cried because I had no shoes, until I saw a man who had no feet." -Reon Schutte
"If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space." (multiple people have said this or written books about this)
"Cause when push comes to shove you taste what you're made of. You might bend till you break cause it's all you can take. On your knees you look up, decide you've had enough. You get mad, you get strong. Wipe your hands, shake it off. Then you stand." -Rascal Flatts

If You Teach A Mom A Lesson - Guest Blogger
Today's "If You Teach A Mom A Lesson" is being hosted by the fabulous Mama M at My Little Life. She is my very first blog mentor and a total rockstar...ahem...seriously. She actually sang on her blog once (go check it out!) She is the mother of 5 and since that wasn't enough kiddos; she also is a L&D nurse.Today's topic is "Traveling with kids and/or family" Let's see those lessons girls....
On with her post...
When my buddy, C-Dub called out for help with blog postings 'cuz she was gonna be busy moving, I thought..."why I never! Too busy for blogging?! Whoever heard of such a thing?!"...and then I said yes.
I would love to help her out!
I LOVE her Lessons Learned posts and I thought I'd give it a go...I'm considering this a "practice round" for her weekly meme blog carnival (the word "meme" makes my skin crawl, for some reason...so I avoid it at all costs...) that she's gonna start up! (Crayon Wrangler side note: this was actually started last week, so go check out that post!)
Recently, my family took a trip to the big city for my son's baseball tournament. These are the lessons I learned on that trip:
1. If you don't check the map prior to departure you will, most certainly, discover that you've taken the wrong route.
2. You had a 50/50 shot at the right route, with those odds, and the outcome you achieved, do NOT buy a lottery ticket any time soon. Luck is NOT on your side.
3. 5 kids and two adults stuck in traffic make for loud, and sweaty, travel companions.
4. Construction in MinneSOOOta really is 9 months out of the year...do not be surprised to find stand still traffic where you never expected.
5. Construction dudes are fun, and if you take a twitpic of them, they might just wave.
6. When you arrive at the next travel route where you must make a 50/50 decision as to which way you should take, see #2.
7. Choosing the wrong "50" two times in a row, will allow you to see parts of the big city you've never seen before.
8. And parts that you've seen numerous times.
9. Your baby will undoubtedly declare, "I GOTTA GO POTTY!!!", while you are driving 80 mph in heavy traffic, without an exit in sight.
10. When you do come to an exit, you decide to chance the wet pants/carseat, lest you leave your route and be forced into a 50/50 decision again.
11. You've learned that 50/50 decisions are BS.
12. You'll decide that for your next birthday, you will be asking for a Garmin NuviGPS, instead of those adorable, cute shoes you wanted.
13. Garmin Nuvi's sound like heaven in a small little box attached to your dash.
Well...how was it? Not C-Dub quality...but DANG! That was fun!!
Looking forward to the start of her carnival! Hope the move is going well, C-Dub!
