Real Moms Of Genius

Today we salute you Cereal Box Scavenger Hunt Mom.
You tirelessly scour the cereal aisle looking for a box of cereal that contains more than one toy
(Mom...Suzy won't share her Made In China Race Car Flyer again)
You have dozens of cereals memorized for the 11 essential vitamins needed for growing kids.
Shunning all the Sugary Poofs and Marshmallow Crunchies, you go for the gold of whole grain.
(Mom...I want the Chocolate covered sugar O's with candy bits)
Once your cereal is home you dutifully clip UPC codes for literacy, .15 cents of the next box and the maze to find the Whole Grain lair for Timmy
(You box is looking like Swiss Cheese)
So we lift our cereal spoons and toast you Cereal Box Scavenger Mom, you are a Real Mom of Genius

Covered Roads

There is something about covered roads that encourage the traveler to go a little slower as they journey.

I believe it is because when you look down these paths, you can see the end.

A stopping place in the journey.

When we are traveling the road of life, we don't see these finish lines. We know when it began, but we never know when the end is. There are no trees to mark our progression, no end to the tunnel. So we speed through this "road" eager to see what is around the next bend and never taking note of where we are.

Never stopping to enjoy those final moments before we reach our destination.

Take a moment today to stop and enjoy where you are on your road, because this road doesn't stretch forever.

In The Tiniest Details

Until the interior of the house is photograph ready, I wanted to show you a few things about "Crayon Ranch" (thanks Kate for the name) that I love. It's in the tiniest details.

The perfect symmetry of the stripes of purple

Children who never want to come inside because of cloud and butterfly watching

The Great Harvest of 2010...at least in their minds.

Fields of wild daisies

Sunlight reflected

New life waiting

Fencepost worn with stories of people come and gone

Unobstructed views from windows

New beauty against old beauty
