Possessed Chair Ad - TRDC

Red Writing Hood - For Sale
This week's assignment was to write a humorous ad, a la Craigslist or eBay, where you're selling things after a breakup.

You will need to click on the picture below to enlarge it so you can even read it because I do not possess mad techie graphic skills...

Disclaimer: Although I was super excited at the prospect of this prompt, I am not happy with how it turned out. I got really caught up in the design (which I am not skilled at) that by the time I needed to write...I feel like I blew it.

I love the ending - "You won't be able to find me again." Perfect.

Loved it! Except I'd be the drooling idiot in the chair...my husband doesn't watch TV

Ha. The "evil" chair in our house is red. My daughter and I stay far, far away from it.

This is why I've never let a recliner into my house. But my Dad has one and every time we visit my husband totally turns into THAT guy you described! UGH!

Listen you. You brought the funny. Own it. Did you actually post this to ebay? Say yes?

I refuse to allow such stuff in my house because my husband would attempt to attach a fridge and possibly a bathroom to said item.

Love this!

This is why there won't be recliners in my house!

Look at you and your techie skills and your funny. I love it. SO funny, sorry will have to pass on the chair, my husband already has enough ways to figure out how to sit still.

I love this. All the detailing, complete with the ending of "you won't be able to find me again."

My only complaint is technical difficulties in reading the entire screen.

Inspired.

I wonder if it would work on my 4 year old...

So perfect. I remember reading a similar post on CL years ago and I think you topped it.

Lordy, how many women want to get rid of their husband's recliner? And no, that particular piece of furniture is not allowed in my house.

Hee! I love the stuff under the "other info" tab. And the kicker at the end of the ad was great!

I think it's hilarious that you created an actual ad! So funny! Thankfully my husband doesn't have a recliner! LOL

This is hilarious! I have yet to own a chair with such powers, but my broken-down old sofa seems to do the same thing to not only my husband but my teenage son as well.

Love how you did the ad!

Apathetic coma...giggle.
You did a great job...you're being far too hard on yourself.
The ad is so cool too. :)

This was fantastic! I'm totally jealous of your actual ad and LOVE the text. I had to do a double take to make sure it wasn't the real thing. :)

Very funny stuff, you still did a great job - although in my house, I'm the one with the favorite chair while my husband lays on the couch and I don't think we could actually part with that...

I think this is clever...it reminds me a little of the Friends episode where Joey thinks his broken recliner healed itself...have you seen it? One of my favorite episodes.
Have a great weekend:)

I love that you made an actual ad!

My in-laws have a recliner and every Sunday it tries to take over my husband. I don't think Id like to deal with that kind of power every day!

Thank goodness there's no recliner in my home! Although my husband's laptop induces similar symptoms to the ones you describe. Hmm...this will require some investigation.

I thought your post was funny and I love that you made it look like a real posting on eBay. I would have loved to hear more dirt on what prompted you to sell it, but overall, this was meant to be fun and you obviously enjoyed yourself!

"You won't be able to find me again."

Perhaps I should have listed the Sofa Which Drove My Dogs Insane?

DO NOT WANT!!! On second thought, it might be better than my husband and I constantly fighting each other for the chaise part of the couch.
