Five Question Friday! 10/30

My Little Life

Yippee!! It's Friday, it's almost Halloween, it's almost a full a moon! What more could we ask for? (Well, I mean, besides a million bucks?!)

Rules: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog, answer them, grab the MckLinky Blog Hop code, and link up! No blog? That's okay! Just leave your answers in my comments! Oh, I'd love it if you'd link back to Mama. M.!!

Okay, here we go!! (Thanks to A., Mindy, Brianne, Heidi, and Erica for their question suggestions! Wanna suggest a question and get a shout out on a future Five Question Friday? Check out my Blog Frog Community discussion thread "Five Question Friday"!)

Five Question Friday, 10/30:

1. What were you doing the last time you really had a good laugh?

Since I often laugh to keep sane, keep from crying, not murder my husband/kids/dog (might be extreme wording) or not pull my own hair out (gnashing of teeth is acceptable) I am ALWAYS laughing! I think the last time it was a good belly shaking, tear inducing and pants peeing laugh was about a week ago when I got stuck between the toilet and the tub while helping my husband lay some floor tile. I found out that you can fit between these objects when you are 25 weeks and under pregnant, but not 30+ weeks for sure.

2. Who was your first CELEBRITY crush?

Being a typical female even at the tender age of dawning puberty, I looked to see what a man/boy could give to me. I fell in love with Alec of the movie "The Black Stallion" because he had a super beautiful horse. I thought his freckles were cute as well. I spent months dreaming of a freckly kids and horse farm full of Arabians.

3. What is one talent that you wish you had?

I wish I had a super fast metabolism. Wait, that's not a talent, is it?
OK, I wish I had no fear of public speaking. I have this thing coming up with my mom (Mrs. Super-travel-around-the-country-speaker) and I will have to talk. I could just vomit right now thinking about it. I have tried the picture everyone naked thing, but lets face...sometimes that isn't funny at all, it downright nauseating which I am battling already.

4. How often do you and your spouse go out w/o the kids? Is it frequent enough?

You mean there is an option to detach them from our hips and travel lighter? Seriously we have gone out just once since the kiddos were born and that was for about 1.5 hours while my parents kept them.
I never considered the disappointment of frequency because we waited until we had been married for 7 years before having our first. Frankly we are sick of spending time alone, heard all the old stories, know each others' fav movie, color and smells...the kids are a welcome distraction.

5. What colour(s) is your bedroom?

A base color of tan. I have a quilt on the bed that is scenes from the discovery of America. (Mayflower, indians, etc) that is full of bright primary colors.
We also have a healthy spattering of pink, purple, orange, etc. of whatever toys the children have chosen to decorate the floors in.

Five Question Friday

So, the rules? Copy and paste the five questions below to your blog post, answer them, grab the MckLinky Blog Hop code and link up! I'd also love it if you'd link back to My Little Life...not a requirement, just a request!

And, we're off!!

1. What is your favorite Holiday and why?
Christmas. Period. Fat and jolly is "in" and scrooginess is "out". It's one of the only holidays that is celebrated for more than one day with traditions. (4 whole months if you are a retail store) It's the celebration of the birthday of Jesus, cookie baking, present wrapping, anticipation in children's eyes (and mine too) of the wonderment of the tree and stockings, looking at everyone else's outdoor lights (when else can you do drive-bys slowly in front of your neighbor's houses and not have the cops called) the only thing missing from our Christmas traditions is having the drunk uncle to make fun of for the other 364 days for somehow setting the turkey on fire.

2. Who has been the most influential person in your life?
My children (well, that's two, almost three) have taught me more about life. They have taught me the importance of patience, the incomprehensible amount of love, the joy in simple things and how to cover yourself with glitter glue and cotton balls.

3. If you could give up one household chore forever, what would it be?
Laundry and all it entails. I have a post here about how I really feel about it.

4. What is the BEST practical joke you have ever been a part of, on the giving OR receiving end? (Thanks to Meghan, for that one!!)
I am not naming names, dates or locations (to protect my butt) but there was this time that a neighbor's doors got nailed shut (momentarily) when she refused to quit slamming them in an apartment complex.

5. Where (or how) did you meet your spouse?
I met my spouse at a Shoney's. He was cooking, I was hungry. He gave me a whole strawberry pie to take home and promised one day he would marry me. Almost 4 years later, he did just that.
